We are sorry to announce the death of Adam Watson at the age of 89. An honorary member of the SOC, he was the authority on the Cairngorms and the region’s wildlife, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, as well as an experienced mountaineer and an expert on the North-east of Scotland where he was born and which he studied throughout his long and productive life. A full obituary will appear in the June issue Scottish Birds.
