The SOC would like to invite you to this artist led sketching event which accompanies the current exhibition, Drawn from Nature.
Artist Helen Kennedy will be talking about her beautiful drawings that are on show in the exhibition and will give a demonstration of some of the drawing techniques that she uses. There will be the opportunity to accompany Helen into the wildlife garden at the SOC, to have a go at sketching the plants and insects that can be found there.
Helen, who is never without her sketchbook describes ‘drawing as the base on which all her work rests’. She finds working outside particularly inspiring, lying in the long grass watching the hidden world of bugs.
Please come along for a fun morning of sketching and exploring different drawing techniques and materials. Suitable for all ages.
